Greenebaum Enterprises

Real Estate Investments - Venture Capital - Philanthropy

History

Our company story began with Stewart Greenebaum whose first job was working in his grandfather’s clothing store chain. One day, as young Stewart traveled on a train to New York, he encountered a gentleman who asked him if he liked what he was doing adding, “Everyone has the same amount of brain, what are you going to do with yours?” When Stewart paused, the man stated, “Land, young man.”As if destined, the next day, Stewart was offered an opportunity to invest in land, and borrowing $500 from his grandmother, he took the leap. Eager to learn everything from the ground up, Stewart delved into field work evidenced by his ever-muddy shoes. Notably, his son Michael, now president of the firm, followed his dad’s example.

From the start, Greenebaum and Samuel Rose with whom he partnered in 1981, focused on understanding each property, doing uncommonly in-depth research on the landscape and jurisdiction, mapping out plans and revising often. Of his multiple studies, Stewart would say “On paper, you can change as much as you want.”

This emphasis on homework paid off, leading to the right concept for each property and accurate forecasts of positive outcomes. We are proud of our heritage and that our name has become known for real estate outperforming the market in all categories.
